Dental check-ups & dental exams
At Forever Dental, we believe everyone deserves a clear picture of their dental health. That’s why we offer a free initial dental exam for new patients without insurance. Based on this first exam, your dentist will create your customized dental treatment plan to guide you and your Forever Dental care team.
What to expect at your dental exam
While the dental services recommended to you may vary, here’s what you can expect at your first dental check-up with us:
Oral health overview
You and your dentist will review your medical history, along with diet and medications that could impact your oral health. Feel comfortable asking questions or addressing any concerns with your care team. If needed, they can screen your mouth to check for gum disease or oral cancer.
Dental X-rays
In most cases, your dentist will conduct four bite wing X-rays. More dental X-rays may be recommended if deemed medically necessary. Your dentist will work with you to determine what’s best.
Treatment plan
Your dentist will tailor your comprehensive treatment plan and dental care to you. Based on your initial exam, your doctor will recommend treatment based on your oral health.
Dental check-up frequently asked questions?
How often should you have a dental check-up?
Forever Dental dentists recommend consistent dental check-ups and hygiene appointments to maintain optimal oral health. We encourage you to visit your local office at least twice a year. If you are at higher risk of gum disease or tooth infection, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits
Do you really need a check-up twice a year?
If you’re at risk of gum disease, oral infection or another oral health issue, getting a dental check-up at least twice a year is the best way to maintain a healthy smile. At Forever Dental, we’ll do everything we can to enhance the health of your teeth, jaw and gums.
Why do you need regular dental check-ups?
Regular dental check-ups are a great opportunity to examine your overall oral health- including the health of your gums, tissue, teeth and around your mouth. Also identify if it’s time for an oral hygiene appointment, better known as a teeth cleaning. During your check-up, you’ll be able to ask your dentist any questions you may have and discuss best practices for things like brushing teeth, flossing, and more. They may even make recommendations, including getting x-rays, to ensure you’re getting the care your smile deserves.
