Explore common dentures FAQs
How do dentures work?
Dentures are a removable smile solution designed to replace your natural teeth and gums. They can enhance the quality of your life by helping you get back to eating, speaking and smiling with confidence. Our care teams custom-craft your dentures so your new smile looks, feels and functions like your own.
Which type of denture is best for me?
There are several types of dentures, including full dentures, partial dentures and implant-supported dentures. The Forever Dental team are experts and can show you what type is best for you.
Where do I begin my denture journey?
We understand this can be a huge step, but we’re here to help from your very first visit. With more than 25 years of experience, Forever Dental is ready to be your denture guide so you can get back to living your best life.
Will dentures really help?
Absolutely. When it comes to missing teeth, dentures can help you get your smile back while supporting the structures in and around your mouth, providing a more youthful appearance
Denture cost & affordability
How much do dentures cost?
Dentures are an investment in the long-term health of your smile. At Forever Dental, we offer affordable dentures and provide a clear, detailed estimate on the cost of dentures of your treatment plan. That way, you know what to expect right from the very first visit. You may also qualify for insurance coverage, depending on your plan. And if needed, we offer 3rd party financing.
How does Forever Dental make dentures affordable?
At Forever Dental, we offer a range of affordable denture options to fit your budget. We partner with third-party lenders to offer a robust financing program where 9 out of 10 patients are approved. Another option to help you keep denture costs affordable is our Forever Dental Savings Plan. We also offer leading warranty programs.
What to expect when considering dentures
How long will dentures last?
With proper care, dentures can last 5 years or more. It is recommend that you have them evaluated every 5 years to make sure they’re still strong and functional and to see if you need any adjustments or replacements.
Will dentures affect my appearance?
Forever Dental dentures are custom-crafted to look and feel like your natural smile. At the beginning of the denture process, there is a “try-in” visit. Your teeth will be positioned in wax so you and your dentist can see how your dentures will look and feel. This is a great opportunity to discuss how they look and make adjustments if needed. Many patients notice that once they get dentures, the additional support provides them with a rejuvenated look. Learn more about when to get dentures here.
How will dentures affect my eating?
Getting used to dentures takes time and patience. But with a little time and practice, it will become second nature. Your Forever Dental dentist will support you through any challenges. They can also offer advice as you get used to eating with your new dentures.
How quickly will I adjust to dentures?
While it may take some time to get used to dentures, you should adjust smoothly with practice. Initially, you may notice you’re producing more saliva, the fit may feel strange, and your speech may be affected. This is a normal acclimation period—once your facial muscles and your mouth adapt, your dentures should feel comfortable.

Can dentures be repaired if they break?
Yes, your dentures can be repaired if broken. We offer same-day repairs in our on-site labs at many of our Forever Dental offices. It’s important that your team of Denture Experts professionally repairs any breaks or cracks to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
Can dentures be replaced?
Yes, your dentures can be replaced if needed. The common signs that may indicate its time to replace dentures are damage, wear and tear like worn teeth, discoloration, discomfort while eating and any difficulty chewing or speaking. Of course, at Forever Dental, we recommend taking good care of your dentures to make them last as long as possible. To learn more about denture care do’s and denture care dont’s, click here.
Can dentures be worn while sleeping?
It is recommend you remove your dentures at night to keep gums healthy. This will help you prevent any inflammation or bacterial growth. It’s important to know the best ways to improve your oral hygiene with dentures. Refer to our detailed cleaning guide for how to clean dentures.
Living with dentures
How should I clean my dentures?
It’s best to clean your dentures over the sink or a damp towel to avoid breaking them if they fall. Once you’re set up, hold them gently between your thumb and fingers and brush them using a denture brush and denture cleaner. You should be able to purchase these items at your local pharmacy. Use only lukewarm water and avoid gritty pastes or powders. We also recommend you clean your dentures after every meal to ensure proper care and promote their longevity.
Will dentures affect my speech?
Your speech may be impacted at first, but don’t worry. Once your mouth adjusts, this should subside. Reading aloud is an excellent exercise for helping to regain your normal speech. For more tips on how to get used to living with dentures, read our guide here.
Can I use store-bought liners?
If you suspect that your dentures need adjustments, bring them in to your dentist right away so they can reline your dentures. Never attempt to reline them yourself. You can apply adhesives for improved comfort. However, if you have any concerns or questions, consult with your Forever Dental care team.
